Podcast #7: Jerry Ocol – Progressive Love

This mix was conceived with the intention of moving your body on the dance floor while remaining centered.
These progressive house and techno tracks on this demo were selected for their ability to move you physically and emotionally. Carefully selected tracks enable the listener and dancer to go on their own personal journeys with the DJs assistance. I hope I have attained this for you. These tracks are my personal favourites in which they flow together seamlessly but do not sound similar to each other.
Together, you and I can rock the dance floor with much gratitude. For more info, please contact me through this website. Jerry Ocol (Anak) is a resident DJ for the Jyotih Network.
Podcast #6: Oliver Giving – Live DJ set @ Communitas, Galiano Island: Sept 09
This set was played on September 5 at a small farm called Communitas on Galiano Island. It was a small gathering this night, yet there was something very special about it.
A number of my best friends were there and so I named the party “My Best Friend Party.” One of these best friends suggested that everyone should have a best friend party. Awesome idea!
Podcast #5: Mr. Innis & Chris Misener – Live DJ set at Nourish 5 – from the archives
Mr. Innis was a guest DJ at this time, but has since become a resident Jyotih Network DJ.
Involved in the electronic music scene since the late 90’s I have progressed through many stages of involvement. From my first mindblowing experience in a dusty throbbing warehouse, to spending hours at home practicing, dreaming of the day I would rock a dancefloor, to actually being the DJ making some of the best venues in Vancouver bounce.
I have held residencies at Alexander 7, The Side Door, Chivana, and Subeez. I have played most of the major hotspots in Vancouver including Deepen @ The Lotus, Sonar, Shine and more, including Main Stage appearances at SummerLove and Soundwave festivals.
More recently I have taken on the challenge of learning how to create the sounds that I love so much. Making my own productions was an inevitable step and is the most relevant one to me right now. Now entering a stage in my career to take music and creativity in professional context, I feel very priveledged to have such a glorious path set before me. I look forward to always using music to express myself and hope that you all continue to enjoy that expression. Thank you for your continued support.
Podcast #4: Jay Michael – Live DJ set @ Nourish 12 – from the Archives

Music and dance for me is a full on functioning addiction. From the early days sorting through records at Calgary’s infamous Feroshus records to late nights scouring the internet, I have been on an endless search for those precious little gems that just make you want to move. I have played dance floors all over Canada and the United states in venue’s ranging from clubs, community centers, deserts, islands and mountain forests. I have played the role of social activist using music and dance as a platform for positive change within the communities that I have lived. I live my life to the fullest and try to inspire everyone around me to do the same.
In the last couple years I have been blessed to perform at virtually every major electronic event or music festival across western Canada and the western United States. As an original member of the Area709 collective I have helped bring international artists such as Sensient and Shadow Fx of Zenon Records, Beat Bizarre of Iboga Records and Vibrapshere of Tribal Vision Records to Canada. I have worked with collectives organizing multiple day Intentional retreats, activism festivals and facilitated dance workshops.
Currently working with the Inner Dynamix collective I help produce a monthly world beat night in Calgary called Journeys. It incorporates an hour long meditation at the opening followed by a 3 hour lightly facilitated dance journey musically scored by myself to beats inspired by cultures from all over the world.
I am currently living back in my home town of Calgary after spending the last five years living on the coast of British Columbia.
Podcast #3: Craig Alan & Chris Misener – Live DJ set at Nourish 8 – from the Archives

Native to the west coast of British Columbia Craig Wanless (aka. Exodus or Craig Alan) attended his first party at the impressionable age of 13 in Victoria, Vancouver Island. Years of seeing this new culture emerge pushed him towards a more important role within events. By the time he moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 1997 Craig was spinning breakbeat with techno and funky house at small underground warehouse parties. By 1998-99, he was part of a collective of local Edmonton DJ’s who took the Edmonton underground scene to a new level by helping to open and managing Edmonton’s largest’s after hours club: Evar-After. His performances are well known across the west coast.
Chris Misener is a resident Jyotih Network DJ.
